No Attribute Points in Diablo3
The Attributes will be automatically assigned after each level up. As we know from D1 and D2, we could spend attribute points on Mana, Health and so on, it was a great way to create a godlike character but the greatest way to destroy your character. A few points spent on the wrong attribute and in the long run you were doomed.
Anyway Blizzard wanted to fix this in Diablo3, so in a WoW like manner the attributes will be automatically assigned to the character each time you level up.
This is a great way to approach a game, we will remain focused on gathering gear and the actual level up without the fear of consequences from spending attribute points. This system will make the game easier for new players to experience Diablo III.
Another great thing in D3 is that armor and weapons do NOT have attribute requirements like the other Diablo games, so you will be able to wear anything as long as it is not class specific to other characters.
I sincerely like the new automatic attribute point distribution, but i have to say this again. Blizzard must make Diablo 3 balanced and never-ending

I sorta agree
October 17th, 2008 at 9:35 pmI dont like how u cant put ur own attribute points where u want them 2 go, totally eliminated being able to customize ur own character and I for one dont like it
but ill wait an see when it comes out I know I wont be complaining
Maybe they are focusing the customization on a different area like skills and runes.
The attribute points indeed got useless in higher levels where you spent all of them in one or two areas.
October 17th, 2008 at 11:01 pmI can’t wait to see how they’ll pull this one of
Blizzard is amazing.
December 23rd, 2008 at 2:35 pmI like the idea of whatever style you are using to gain xp points in a game transferring over to you attributes.
example: players that use stealth alot get more attributes in areas like mana and dexterity – whereas players that use brute force get stamina and strength (with an underlying mod for the character class)
This will help to tranform the character to each gamers unique style of play.

May 10th, 2009 at 9:40 amI do think blizzard has some unique games and I do like the gameplay. I feel though, that sometimes they get greedy and lose sight of the game on aspects like price. That combined with the sneaky way that blizzard seems to make you wait at least a year or 2 before the game comes out and people are SO anxious for the game- they jack sales and make tons of money. I know that for marketing, that is very smart, but we are human and they could treat us a little more like humans instead of deep pockets. Why doesn’t anyone who is upset about the games or releases (like starcraft 2) boycott blizzard, group together and protest buying the game or games? I just feel like alot of gaming companies have lost track of releasing a cool game and worry more about profit. In the end even if blizzard does well, since they are based in california, if the state cannot support itself, they may lose everything anyway.
December 20th, 2009 at 5:18 pmi get you bad and i agree with what your saying, but thats been happening alot around souther cali, we can try to stop that from happening but you already know its going to continue. and what the others were saying about the attribute points, it already sounds like a rip off, my hopes for this game are dropping as we speak.i never do buy a game right away unless i think its necessary, i will also give the word about a boycott, i live in california i work for my city and i will surely talk to my friends.
December 25th, 2009 at 6:48 pmI agree with bad. I have a kid and still sold my xbox 360 so i could go buy a computer to play D3. But i am loseing interest in the game because blizzard wont even give the release date. Instead they just tell us that it is getting moved back and not even give a good reason. I mean not to make them mad but come on it has been at least 2 years and i am ready to get back to kicking Diablo around. But at this rate my kid will have to explain to me how to play the game. The sad part is he is only 2 right now. So please Blizzard I am sure you guys already got the top of line graphics and i am sure that you have already did all the test on the game so let us have a crack at diablo and put him back where he belongs.
April 14th, 2010 at 10:32 pmmaybe if they implemented something like:
May 10th, 2010 at 5:48 amchoose recomended attributes(for newbies) and custom attributes distribution(for advanced players) or and a feature where you can reset your att like in wow where you pay for reseting talent points was many times nicer
I totally disagree. Part of what made Diablo and Diablo 2 so interesting was the ability to fully customize your character from top to bottom. Having the game automatically assign skill points and removing level or stat restrictions from armor, weapons or any other equipable item completely detracts from the game. You used to have some sort of intelligence in order to create effective characters, now anyone can do it. I’m also disappointed with having every item take up 1 slot and using the bag-like inventory system similar to that from WoW. The game is starting to look so much like a Diablo mod on top of the WoW game. As a loyal diablo fan, I for one am extremely saddened by the route blizzard has taken with this game.
