Would you like to buy items in Diablo3 ?

We know the situation in Diablo2 … there are dozens of sites that are selling D2 items: armors, weapons, amulets, runes.
You can buy everything and use on BattleNET

Also we have to mention the spambots that are selling the items on the BattleNet channels and in the game. People (even me) are tempted to buy items, specially the old gamers that don’t have time to grind and grind for hours. It is easy not to create the perfect character if you have a few $ to spend.

Diablo 2 Item Shops are the PK heaven
For people interested in PKing these shops are the touch of God, D2 online realms are filled with “artificial” characters created like this.

When you look at this situation you know that you don’t have to play the game over and over in order to get the items, no more need for MF items and boss farming.

These shops are killing the online experience!
There used to be a time only when the true hardcore gamers had the best items on the realm, now anyone can have them for a few $. This can be a bad thing because BattleNET is filling up with players that don’t actually know how to really play Diablo2 BUT have godlike characters and rule the PK ring

What about Diablo3 ?
I wonder if Blizzard will allow this in D3 also if they will turn this to their advantage.
I am talking about a “legal” item marketplace created and maintained by Blizzard, we just have to wait and see (although i don’t think they will set one up)

I wonder if this kind of trade will be possible in Diablo3, the new BattleNET (2.0) will have new features and improvements, also the item transfer between characters and accounts will get seriously simplified.

I am against all kinds of item trading outside the actual game, i don’t like buying items I like working for them. The satisfaction you get when you create a good character beats everything.

Larger towns and cities in Diablo III

I have an opinion
The cities in Diablo 3 should be big (if not huge) and more realistic. I mean in D2 the cities were small, with few merchants and few NPCs(and Cain ofc). You were almost alone. The cities had no real reason to exist besides trading items and healing …

This is why i suggest making the cities larger and more interactive. I mean yes, it was great in the Barbarian City where you could see how Barbarians lived BUT i want to be involved in the city life. I want some city quests, where my character can help the community (not stupid WoW NPC quests but real tasks) like catching a criminal or protecting a family.
The most important fact is that towns and cities Must have a point in the game, a reason to exist and a true role in the D3 Storyline

I would like to see cities with more than 20 NPCs that are actually doing something, i would like to see more than 10 buildings in a city (maybe even enter them). A great addition whould be random events in the cities:

  • random monster raids
  • bar fights (sounds silly but it wold enhance the town experience)
  • maybe even making the “people” rising against the enemy

When we are in town we must feel like home, not just a cold - dead place (unless it is indented). They should be an adventure not just a respawn place.

What i really want in Diablo3 is the ability to participate in a real siege. I mean either protecting my city from a siege OR doing a mass attack on the undead camp for example. These are the thoughts of a Diablo Fan… maybe it’s too much to ask but IT IS possible

Blizzard said that they will make the world in Diablo III more interactive with larger cities and more “people”.

Why should we buy Diablo III ?

A few reasons to buy Diablo3
There are a lot of reasons to buy and play this game, i will list a few

  • It continues from where Diablo2 left off
  • Because of BattleNET 2.0
  • It is a Diablo Game!
  • The gameplay trailer rocked
  • Because D3 is made by Blizzard
  • The awesome community
  • Because we are true fans
  • Because Blizzard listens to the fans
  • Because we are a disturbed group of fans that like fast paced and bloody games
  • BattleNET will be free !
  • Tons of monsters
  • Tons of gear
  • A new Diablo Universe to discover
  • At least 4 new character classes
  • Because we want to smash undead heads with the Barbarian again :)

The reasons can go on forever, you all know why you want to (or not) play it. The important thing is that we have a choice and with blogs and forums like this one we can make a decision.

Well, what do you think.. are you going to buy this game ?
I will because i am sure it will be a great game

The chests in Diablo3

How do you think the chests should be in D3 ?
Well, in D2 they are useless and i personally never got anything good from a normal chest (not the end map ones)
Chests in D2 are a waste of time and not worth the click spent on them, and if you take into consideration that some of them are traps, even better ….

This got to Blizzard’s ears, here is what Bashiok says

There have been a few discussions about chests, what
they meant in the previous game, and what they’ll mean in Diablo III.
Currently there are no locked chests, and it’s not something we’re
looking to reintroduce for now. We have discussed varying chest quality
and types, adding randomness not only to the appearance of a chest but
also the value of items it may drop or possibly specifically what types
of items it’s guaranteed to drop. Mix it up a bit and make finding a
chest exciting, but make finding a special chest something even rarer
and more exciting. It could certainly make exploring the entire floor
of a dungeon more compelling before moving on.

There is hope for the Chest in Diablo III after all
I am glad that they will not introduce locked chests (does not fit in the diablo image - the barbarian would just smash it open :) ). The chest must mean something, it must contain something of value that is worth the risk. We know that in D3 there will be more traps and the risk of getting killed at every step increased, so make everything random, the content and appearance of the chest BUT increase the value of the drop.

The Diablo 3 chest must contain something that can not drop from a dead corpse or by killing a normal monster. Each chest should be harder to find and with e prize inside :)

Bashiok’s (Blizzard Official Poster) words brought hope for the chest system in DiabloIII

Should Diablo3 be dark and creepy ?

YES
People are asking this: why do fans want this game dark and creepy ?
And the answer is : Because Diablo is not Warcraft

Diablo3 is not a

  • happy game
  • bright colored game
  • religious game
  • fantasy game
  • pokemon ?!
  • rainbow and flower filled game
  • game for children

Do you know what it is ? or what it should be ?
D3 must be a gore filled - fast paced - lore enhanced - dark and disturbed - insane - hack & slash game with tons of blood and hordes of monsters.
This is my personal opinion on the game

NO Escort Missions in Diablo3

I have a beef with Escort missions in all games.

What is an Escort Mission ?
Well you have to babysit a NPC (or a group) … slow and painful missions that drive you insane. I have encountered a few interesting escort missions and thousands of boring “drive you up the wall” type missions

The Diablo games (I and II) never had this problem and I don’t want to see it in III
I saw a guy suggesting this to Blizzard and thought to myself … ” how can you call yourself a true Diablo fan when you come up with this idiotic idea ? “
I am sure that Blizzard will not introduce these kind of missions in D3.

Diablo3 must be a fast paced and insane game, there is no room for slow missions here
